Introduction to Memory Systems

Foreword
Nothing will assist you more in your journey through life or enhance the experience as much as a well developed memory. In your memory resides the sum total of all that you are and all that you have learned.

You may be surprised to find that there is no difference between a ‘good’ and a ‘bad’ memory. It is simply a matter of how well you learn to use the limitless memory capacity you were born with.

An impressive memory is not a gift, a question of age, or a genetic predisposition. Everyone can learn to preserve and improve his or her memory.

Since memory is such an important tool it would stand to reason that we should learn to use it properly. Strangely, very few people make an effort to understand the process by which memory works and how to improve its performance. It is not taught in schools and rarely learned in the workplace.

Part l of this book introduces you to some of the most successful systems and techniques for memory training. You will apply these techniques to the key areas of memory improvement found in Part ll. The concepts are not difficult to master but like all worthy pursuits they do require a little of your time, a moderate degree of effort, and most importantly your desire to learn. Read the book. Choose the techniques relevant to your needs. Finally, put them into practice.

Your memory is an extremely valuable tool because it helps you to master all others. Enjoy the journey!
